2023 – Community Orchard
“We’re delighted that all the fruit trees have now been planted in the new Community Orchard to the rear of Sweatford Water Meadows.
“We have 6 Apple trees (Egremont Russet, Ellisons Orange, Fiesta, Katy, Laxton’s Fortune and Newton Wonder), 2 Pear trees (Conference and Williams), 2 Cherry trees (Stella and Sunburst) and 2 Plum trees (Belle du Louvain and Victoria). These trees will start to fruit in time.
“Our thanks go to Fordingbridge Greener Living for instigating the Community Orchard project and for their involvement in it, New Forest District Council’s Open Spaces Team for transforming a very overgrown site, Dave Tree and the customers of All the Cool Stuff for paying for half of the trees through their loyalty scheme, and to The Avon Valley Men’s Shed and Fordingbridge Town Council’s Ground Staff for planting the trees.”

2020 – Keep The Heart Beating
Following easing of lock-down every town and community has the challenge ahead of itself to revive. ‘Keep The Heart Beating’ is a positive call to action to help remind people to shop local in Fordingbridge and surrounding villages.
“The past few months will have stretched many of us in different ways, the next few will stretch many even more.” Says David Tree, owner of Fordingbridge toy retailer All The Cool Stuff, “We are asking people to make a change for the better and make Fordingbridge their first port of call, this support makes a genuine difference and those actions will influence others to help make where we live a better community. All towns face similar challenges, and I hope that what Fordingbridge is doing will inspire others too.”
